Getting Organized for Writing Chapter 1

Chapter one was very helpful in getting started with PR writing because it had a lot of fun easy tips.

• Public relations personnel who write news releases and other materials fulfill a valuable role because they implement and execute the tactics of public relations program.

• PR writing is similar to journalism in that both strive to provide accurate, credible information.

• Computers are essential for PR work.

• A reference library is a must, books are great but search engines like Google and library databases are good too.

 • Associated Press Strylebook and Briefing on Media Law is the most widely used stylebook for working.

 • All Public Relations writing starts with the basic steps of determining the purpose and content of the message.

• DON’T be sloppy word choice, sentence structure, grammar, and spelling are important.

• ALWAYS!!! Double check your work and sources.
