Ethics and Professionalism Ch 3

Ethics refers to a person’s value system and how he or she determines right or wrong. The three basic value orientations are absolutist, existentialist, and situationalist. PR is full of organizations: PRSA, IABC, and IPRA provide an important role in setting the standards and ethical behavior of the profession. The public relations professional have a loyalty to a higher standard and to the public relations with more than a careerists and practice public relations with more than a technician mentality. PR is all about professionalism. They want people to feel comfortable and safe in their hands.
